String of Nightmares

The last few nights have been bad. It started with a dream in which I was swimming. My husband started playing around, splashing water in my face. I splashed him back and he dunked my head underwater. I hate having my head underwater. When I popped back up I glared at him. He became angry and pushed me down again, this time holding me under.

The next night I was going on a bike ride and hike with some dream friends. We came to a house where we would be spending the night. I had both of my dogs with me. The man of the house invited me to go for a bike ride with Denali before it got too dark. I'd been riding all day but it sounded fun so off we went. We didn't ride more than a mile before the sun was too low and we turned around. Then the rest of the group went whizzing by, saying I was going the wrong way and to hurry up. I told them my other dog was still at the house so I had to go back. Why were they leaving? It was dark!

By the time I got back to the house, Denali was no longer part of the dream and neither was the man. It was light outside, early morning. I knocked on the door and it opened. A woman with long hair and dirty clothes turned to look at me. I told her I was there to get my dog. She laughed and said the dog wasn't going anywhere as she sat down at an old wooden table. It was her dog now. After a brief argument I shoved her over backwards. I began stomping on her head and face. I kept stomping until she stopped moving and blood covered the floor. Adrenaline rush. I didn't feel bad at all. I opened the back door and leashed my dog, then left to catch up with the group.

It was only a few miles down the road when I caught up to part of the group. They had stopped and were climbing some big rocks and eating lunch. They had no intention of continuing with the rest of the group. I was aggravated and thought I could find the group myself. The rest of the dream was spent walking along dusty trails through canyons. I was lost. I was scared. Terrified. I was alone.

The next night continued with the same dream only I had found a few people from the group. They didn't know where anyone else was. As we were walking, day turned instantly to night. The footsteps of the people I'd found faded away and I became lost again. Nobody answered my screams. There was no sound at all.
